Welcome to my page! I am a student of Electrical Engineering in IIT Madras, and computing is my hobby. I hope to earn my B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering and M.Tech. in Communication Engineering in 2008.

I like asking and answering questions on free software mailing lists. Besides that, I have tried to contribute with some packaging in my favourite operating system, namely Debian GNU/Linux. You can find the list of packages I am maintaining for Debian at my Debian QA page.
I have also written for a few articles for GNU/Linux related magazines. A review was published in LinuxForYou as well.
Fun with FUSE: A demonstration of how FUSE can be used to mount virtually anything as a file-system homogenously on your computer.
Making XMMS effect plugins: A brief tutorial on how to write DSP Effect plugins for the wonderful XMMS audio player.

muttrc-mode for GNU Emacs: Since I didn't find any updated version, I wrote one.
bc-mode for GNU Emacs: bc is a simple mathematical tool available on most Unix and Unix-like operating systems, and GNU Emacs needs a bc-mode!
SuperScroller: A different text-scrolling Java applet.
ImageApplet: A nice applet which lets you design an image-cycling, hyperlinked banner.
CATest: An applet which generate all 256 simple cellular automata patterns.
Link Checker: A simple link checker written in Python to weed out dead links from a single HTML page on a server.
inettime: A program for desktop Linux users using dial-up (PPP) to connect to their ISP's, which reads the log files and mails the usage time to the user's account.
CGI Link Checker: A CGI script which is to be hosted on a web server. It checks the validity of hyperlinks on a single HTML page on the network or the internet.
